Jesus is My Friend

We all need friends
so good to know one
one that loves you
that you can trust bar none

But I have a special friend
who has always loved me
even when I’ve been bad
His love is all I see

For all my badness
Himself did He take
by dying in my place
the devil’s hold did He break

Now He indwells me
by His holy spirit
working on my character
chipping away the bad bit by bit

So this friend is Jesus
the one and only God’s son
who’s promise to be with me
till His work on me is done
