Journey’s end

Journey’s end

It’s not now
That fuels this fear,
It’s not these breaths
That sear my lungs,
Nor current views
that pierce these eyes,
Only the past
Can claim these laurels.

Age has tempered
Unknown fears,
Age has cooled
The inhaled,
Wisdom caused
Me look away,
Time past
Leaves empty husks,

I hold tight
The remembered,
My anchor
The unforgiven,
My burden
Promise only,
Relief
years given.

Call it journey’s end

Tony my friend, your praise means so much. Life has slowed my pen. Occurrences good and tragic robbed my time and the words build up and demand an audience.
your opinion is valuable
