Poem -

Jun Kenshi

first student ..

Jun Kenshi

I heard that he once
made youĀ into a poem
To celebrateĀ the birth
of a brand new day ..

I note by the inkĀ
traced from your headĀ
to your toes
He wroteĀ the whole
of youĀ in sacred kanji ..

That was the momentĀ
I imagineĀ ..
He may well have first
called you his Jun Kenshi ..

Wow...I am a massive fan. There is an underlying detachment, amusement, sarcasm in most of your writes that I love.
This is so clever, as if written by a defeated lover about the victor. Such a derogatory write as if the defeated lover understands the whole of the game. I understand Kenshi to mean game but correct me if I'm wrong. Brilliant lines...the whole write ...a massive middle finger to the happy couple...I'm a massive bloody fan...but I said that...😊 x

Well Neville...whatever you write about the reader...this reader... always gets a sense of a little bit of darkness and double edged meanings. A sense of rule bending and cryptic rebellion. The kind of writer that gets overlooked in favour of hearts and flowers and I've seen this happen before. I could read you till the cows come home...you should publish...and please...let me know should you ever...X

This for me reads like an intimate write, an awakening. Your eyes are wide open to the truth and heart of the matter. Life and indeed love can feel like a game. Here you take the reader into the workings of such love. I liked the subheading "first student" like your first lesson was learnt in this moment of realisation, for we are all students of lifeĀ

Wonderful Neville, I do enjoy your style and imageryĀ

Huge thanks are on their way Gwen .. although open to occasional debate within the world of Shorinji Kempo (it can be Googled) the term or title jun kenshi can mean first student ... I was awarded the title many years ago now ................... am already beginning to regret letting on as I like your interpretation so much more ....................... N :) x

Being Me

Written in an almost off handed way that tries to camouflage the writers feelings. There is a massive story between these lines. An extremely well written poem that gets the reader thinking... well, it does this one. Awesome work x
