JUST ANOTHER DAY
Huddled up against a coffee cup in King's CrossÂ
Nobody is bothered couldn't give a tossÂ
His face is unshaven and his clothes are worn
The laces on his shoes are frayed and tornÂ
Last night outside the tube station was his bed
A disused and old newspaper his blanket spread
Five coins were left for him in his hat overnightÂ
So the future today is looking rosy and brightÂ
The coffee now drank doesn't keep hot for long
He doesn't use milk and likes it extra strongÂ
Another day on the street to mumble and begÂ
Hoping people take pity on his awkward leg

Wow KIERAN!!....it's been a while since I read your work and I am kicking myself for not getting to you more often.....the subtlety of this piece is what makes it so very BEAUTIFUL....and so soft in its melancholy......it creates imagery and feeling equally and stunningly......taking the reader into a momentary altered state.....it is truly and profoundly touching!!......the loneliness and misery of homelessness is on full display here!!.......PINNED!!....VERY well conceived and BEAUTIFULLY delivered!!.......Bravo dear poet brother!!......LOVE & ROCKETS!!.......T xo : O)
