Just as the Sun was Rising

Just as the Sun was Rising

Β
In a world that leaves me feeling deflated and disappointed
I refuse to believe
that this is my lot in life
Β
sometimes I close my eyes
imagining my very own imagery
Β
I can see the sunflowers
smiling in the meadows
streaming with light
in that one crucial moment
when the sun
finally beams onto their sleeping facesΒ
waking them with a start every time
Β
and the magnificent orchestra of birds
singing their daily opera
reminding me i'm aliveΒ
Β
and that very moment
when the sun beams
reach
the terracotta roof of the villa
perched on the hill
almost as if
it was protected by a glow Β
Β
clouds moving gently
to the sideΒ
leaving fresh air
and lavender perfume
for all to savorΒ  Β
Β
in a world that leaves me feeling
deflated and disappointed
I refuse to believe that this is my lot in life
Β
I close my eyes and I imagine
Β
and i see once againΒ
the great deer visit me in my back yardΒ
Β
just as he used too
many moons ago
Β
just as the sun was rising.
