JUVENILE ARTHRITIS
swollen knees at 4 years old
she carried on so strong
hospital visits one after another
to find out what was wrong
mri scans and bloods
steroid injections
methotrexete tablets at weekends
but watch out for infections
That disease that cripples
supposed for the old
has worked its way to young
with a vengence so cold
it holds like a vice
causing inflammation and pain
stiffness in joints
child's never the same
blood tests every 2 weeks
tablets ,crying they wonder why
a lifetime to go on
as they struggle and try
no playing in the rain
no jumping off that wall
no sports that hurt you so
no kicking that ball
10 years old now but happy
a lively girl ,she has fun
even limits to sports
wont leave her undone
swimming her favorite
arthritis at bay
she carries on regardless
through the pain every day
to all the little fighters
with this painful disease
are an example to us
their strength never leaves !!

My heart goes out to you both Tina, as a Mum that must have been really hard to see your daughter in so much pain; but the pride of having such a courageous little girl!! She sounds like an amazing and brave young lady! A nom and vote from me hun:)
thank you rachel very much! when erin got arthritis i was shocked to know a child could have this ,now i realize how common it has become in children .she has taught me how brave children are .doctors don't know how she got it ,or any child for that matter. so its something any child can get as they don't know if its already in their system or due to illness or even a fall.hopefully when shes in 2 years in remission from pain with the tablets ,she will be weaned off the tablets ,fingers crossed .thanks rachel

jai thank you for the read and understanding the message that children can get this too .its a disease that needs a lot of perseverance as you say.good days and bad days as you know. an adult finds restrictions hard but for a child they have a long road ahead but most of them and i have seen worse than erin ,trapped in wheelchairs they have so much pain their limits are heartbreaking.thanks jai :) tina x
