KARMA

Thrown to the storm
Its breath wrung out
Love
Pounded, hacked
Pumelled, throttled
Bloodied and bleeding
Pleads for mercy
Death is more compassionate
The sodden grave lying in wait
Unmindful of the raven
Ringing its knell
It yearns for eternity
The vultures tweak their beaks
Manicuring their talons
The freshness of love’s carrion
The grave sings a lullaby
Tears flowing from its bowels
Tears of ecstasy
Love lies in the dank mud
Wrapped in swaddling clothes
And sees itself being born again
