Kill The Lights

Kill The Lights

Will you darken the daylight and

Close me in with endless black?

Shadow my childlike babies face

and pull my skin tightly back?

Will you catch those swarming creeper’s

that etch my face with lines?

Blot out the sun that shows my face

that show the aging signs?

Will you unearth the fountain

That grants the youth I need

Bathe me in its swampy liquor

Revive me like the seed

I can dress myself to youth

Don me with denim and lace

Death is waiting for me

I refuse to go with grace

Sooner than you know it

I’ll be numb and cold

So please kill the lights,

Kill the lights!

Before my young body is old.

Wow!!... this is an amazing use of phrasing to slowly read..... and (in your minds eye) see the blanket of aging slowly envelop the person in in question...... it has great word choices creating a VERY unusual ambiance....... well conceived and beautifully delivered!!........ALL STARS....... high fives..... and ......WELCOME to COSMO!......LOVE and ROCKETS!!......T xo.Β  ?
