A Kiss

He used to keep her picture in his heart

They used to drive into the night together

He held her close he vowed they'd never part

But their hearts got lost in unpredictable weather

She dream't of him another night alone

Thinking of him and how he'd call her phone

Her tears help her to sleep each night

Whilst his memories she tries to fight

And he gains enough strength to go out again

He goes to the loud bar down his lane

Hoping to get lost in the crowd to ease some pain

He takes his poison and his blame

She hurts inside but tries to hide

That losing him, herself she'll never find

Leaving behind the hurt that she had signed

She goes to he bar for a relief of some kind

As he takes another down a tear fell to the ground

With his heart so empty in a bar of plenty laughter.s

He thinks of her absence never being found

That he could hold her heart and hand till the ever afters

She drinks her drink and try's hard not to think

She breathes in deep with courage to take another leap

As she taps on a strangers shoulder braver and bolder

And says he'd owe a kiss under the mistletoe

His emptiness won't let him resist knowing who's there

He turns to see his beloved dear in so much fear

She stands speechless in awe

Wondering is it really him? The man I adore

He quickly kisses her under the mistletoe

While she held him close wanting more and then more

Forgetting the pains and heart aches they wore

And continued kissing under their mistletoe
