Knight

Part of me still wants to hold back.
Like the winter clinging to the earth on springs first peak...
Another part of me wants to let it all go and let you hold my heart, every piece...
Being like a magpy, feathered in black and white...
But also adhering to the sad killdeers song of plight...
I am also like the blue bird, small.
So if I entrust you with knowing the deepest parts of myself...
If I let you not just hold my body, but my soul as well...
Will you protect me from the eerie nights whispers among the pine trees tall?
Can I let my heart be held in your hands, gently, with your utmost tender care and warming mends?
I am not one to let any wolf venture close....
For I bare my sorrow onto my soul and let the red water drip down to its core...
And when the furry, dark monster grins at you with his teeth...
Will I be able to have the confidence that you won't give him my heart as a feast?
Because with this risk I take, letting you hold my one beating flesh...
Can I let you love me, and not hurt me in the end?
So like all great hero's, gods, and powerful men, I will give you the honor of holding my fragile, vital, little heart in the palm of your strong, calloused hand...
(Be gentle with me)

Delicate, gentle and tentative.
The writing sparkles with a quiet grandeur and the imagery is subtle and exquisite.
This is just beautiful...
