Poem -

KUSH

Rain turns Earth the color of dark skin

God, King and Father is a Lion in His prime

It's not the stars that move- it is us

Move us from there to here- and call it time

Grandmothers spoke of a storm to soon come-

Bringing men with eyes cold like the snow

We moved a mountain in what they now call Egypt

Became a secret Black children couldn't know

If there be gods- I call on Mother Nubia

Children of Kush- return from Her womb

Prayers and poems from the Book of the Living-

Sons and daughters- return from the tomb

Farmers and fishermen don't learn from books

Neither do women who cook by the fire

Who are these demons and what they unteach us?

What do the children of white gods desire?

Kush- hear we sing of power

Who will sound the drum? Maybe one of our daughters

Soon they will die- those who don't believe-

Ashes from flesh and bone upon the waters

Kush- we rise from the ocean-

Take the Black mind, body or soul home

Dig wells for water- plant seeds for food

Men and women hunt for love- crown and throne

Kush- return Nubian genius

Build homes and bridges- let Nature heal the sick

Let stars and mathematics be Divine Scripture

Make the future of unmovable bricks

Kush- come to me beloved

Brother and sister- princess and prince

Build a new temple- schools for the wise

You are the children of gods- ever since

Very Nice poem,

We are indeed GODS  children, and the Appel of his eyes, which we ate from, so we need to make him smile at least once a day, if we want ice cream..

Thank you Shirley,

You made me smile (good work!)- and ice cream would be nice right about now. Am I not as good as I think I am? I'll have to work harder and comment more. I'm on my way to find some of your work.

                                                                                                                God bless you,

Glad to have made you smile, and believe me none of us are as good as we can be, we are endless in our potential and what we all do here is just a spark of what remains to be seen. To the day we reach the ultimate self, just keep on sharing and that would be the best fuel to the state of desired bliss we all await.

Brother Jim,

I was hoping you'd add your two cents- but you gave much more. I'm not a true student of poetry. Yet, I due recognize it as the best way to say what must be said. I'm submitting work that is part of a book that I'm working on. It stands in contradiction to the direction that the overwhelming majority of humanity is headed in. We did not arrive here by accident. The word "God" doesn't mean the same thing to everyone. We might think that "the rulers of the darkness of this age" are evil- what's frightening is that they truly believe that their vision of the future is worth all the destruction necessary to bring it about. Most of us are too distracted or too apathetic to compete with their ideology. My work has to be part-comedy/part-tragedy but all-dramatic. I wish to start some serious discussion. I've taken up enough of your time. Thank you for making me feel welcome.

Hey James,

You are always welcomed, my door never close to all the open minded opinionated
people,(if there ever was one), not one that I can recollect to my acknowledgement, by any of the participants on this open forum. Your poems appear a cause for the greater good of all and the louder you speak in manners such as this, the advice received will always be accepted as positive
forward progression, Stay you, the stage is yours and like always, the show must go on in any case and each time we read your literary offerings, we become your audience and your responsibility is, as you d, on all of your works...try and "captivate us." and as one of the conglomerance of
that  audience .....Your works is never less than very Good, Job always satisfying and beyond well done....Powerful pen you yield....

Jim

your poem's are intense really intense you seem to have a mission in you i do not let ireland get to me because a war not worth thinking it will never be won .i have read all your poem's and i admire you for speaking out but you don't take yourself serious as a poet you have a lot of anger toward's black women not getting the attention they deserve .i admire you because you are bringing that out but black is equal to white in a lot of people's eye's .i have black relative's even if they are my cousin's children   i'm sure you will feel this keeping the distance but i have to speak  slavery and all that went on in the past still hurt's the generation's but there are genuine white people who are disgusted  with the past my thought's are with you tina

Tina,

Very elegantly offered and you are a genuine human being,That i will respect and stand by you, for ages to come.....Just as you apologize for the sins of the fathers, i too place mine alongside yours, as well..Ignorant are those, who can't accept your gift of compassion, just as those that don't accept mine..

Sincerely,

Jimmy Lee Arnold
