Lament for the past

Seasons come to an end
Transitioning into another world
Letting go eventually

We have weathered so many seasons
So many times that set roots
That have now grown into memories
We changed

Not yet twilight years
Not yet too far gone
We still have that knowing smile
When we see the new crew
The new soon to be like us
I wonder if they will age as well as we do

Some left the scene
Some disappeared into the wide world
It is so thin on the ground now
It seems like it is just us few

The same things are being done
Only the faces change
Age follows us all
The bit part backroom player
That shows its might all so suddenly

One day they wont see us anymore
Wont wonder what's the story
Wonder why we stayed so long
And not let time devour us earlier

Farewell always comes
Memories trailing behind
Friends came and went
Seasons changed
