Laments of a Salesman

Laments of a Salesman

Peddling my shoddy wares
to a world that ain't buying
sure takes it's toll
on this cynical soul
as the stained walls
of my motel room
slowly engulf road weary me

This bottle of cheap whiskey
will have to suffice
to drown this vagabond's life
in a 90 proof sea
of mournful melancholy
lamenting every wrong turn
I've made along the way
