Poem -

land of the free

There once was a dream called freedom.
It was born in the hearts of enslaved, down trodden men.
Where kings and queens and religious royalty ruled.
Desperate times , and brave men with a vision, drew up dreamsĀ
War was fought, but it had a virtue, a righteous causeĀ
If we can believe any of our recorded, documented
Past, it is a worthy tale.
Men that rose from humble and non glorious beginnings to father a nation.
Nobility and wealth not laid at a monarchs feet.
In this fierce wild un civilized land where the winters were so harsh.
Where there were native people and ferocious bears
AndĀ  the hearts of Europe began to dream free.
Free as the eagles circling the vast waterways, where salmon leaptĀ
In the air in multitudes and pelted fox and beaver made
The rivers brown.
What have we done with this dream?
What have we corrupted?
The rich new royalty and celebrities, scoff at morality and laws.
Their perversions and occult practices prey off of the poor and
LostĀ
The time of feudal practices have seemed to have echoed again.
Why?
Why do we not learn
Why choose the darkness over the divine light?
Good question.
