Poem -

LAPIS PRINCE

He stole a red rose for me,
now its dried petals are led by moths feasting.

He laughed louder than the crowd with me,
now I search for that sound thoroughly.

He narrated tales of his history for me,
now I read books of his nation to refresh that memory.

He placed lapis stone on my bare neck for me,
now it’s stored away to reduce my agony.

He danced to our song on the streets with me,
now I dance no more to that melody.

The clock now ticks slower for me,
and my heart still aches for my lapis lazuli.
