Poem -

Last Journey.

From the warm interior i head out to the cold exterior.
The sky above as grey as that unwanted word depression.
And from it heavy snow falls in a uniformed procession.
Ahead of me nothing but whiteness.
Apart from the blowing wind all around me quietness.
Mother Nature shows her power.
I take a long swig from my Irish whiskey near empty jar.
And head to my wanted destination.
I walk into the white wilderness without hesitation.
Along my journey i get lost.
For that mistake I’ll pay a heavy cost.
Around me the wind blows and heavy snow falls.
It is like I’m walking into well built brick walls.
The next day they found me, my face frost bitten and my body frozen solid.
They identified me by my name and smiling picture in my crocodile leather wallet.
