The Last Sunrise

I will be there for your last sunrise.

I will witness the last breath as you close your eyes.

Your unconditional love is like none other that I could ever receive from a father, son, or brother.

Through all these years you have licked my wounds as well as my tears.

You have been my protector, companion, and best friend.

Now your life has met it's bitter end.

Without sight nor sound, your embrace was where our love was found.

So let's take one last walk my dear one on this last sunrise to the last setting sun.

I cannot thank you enough for this poem for my dog. It was read to her in the backyard, on her last morning with me. . Where she spent many days playing with my grand kids, chasing squirrels and running after her tennis ball. a copy of it was sent with her for her travels to the rainbow bridge to what for me to join her one day.

Love you ,   Chad
