Poem -

The Unwise Bribe

What currency do I need to bribe Father Time?

Or shall I intoxicate him on the finest of wine?

To negotiate a better fate to fast forward or rewind!

Perhaps go back and make amends, tighten the loose ends, and choose a better path.

So I won't suffer this emotional wrath.

Or propel me to the time to come, the mystery undone, and cure me of you.

So I wouldn't obtain such a plight of heartache to ensue.

But Father Time lifted my chin and said with a grin, "History told it's story, allow the future hold it's glory".

"Learn from your mistakes and never plagued by regret, your past shapes your future and it's all set".

So I shook his hand and said with a smile, "You're right Father Time".

"My past is going to be worthwhile"!

Josie,

This is a well wrote and calculative poem. Wagers with father time is a chancy task to embark on but  i must say, this time, it sounds judging from this poem, you have won all bets imposed. Very pretty poem and put together, quite well...Like the spunk you have placed in this one and an attention grabber, from beginning to end......Only time will tell or have you won your wager, for the future as well?

Great Poem,

Jim

Thank you so very much Jim...yes I suppose time will tell all. I realize patience is not my virtue however.

excellent ,   I decided long ago to take Father time with me, thru life , keeping my eye on the goal,:  that life is not about me, but about the people I meet. There is a reason
