Poem -

Let Her Die

On this day I stand before the mirror.

Though the reflection is the same but somehow even clearer.

I choose to reinvent myself as someone I'll begin to admire by placing self-doubt, pity, and condemnation on the fire.

I vow to love this reflection so I can learn to love another.

Finding the real beauty within without the scars of my father and mother.

I will miss you my untamed one, don't forget me now...

You are contained with hurt and pain but will manage the best way you know how.

Will they still find me amusing, sexy, and fun?

Without that drink in my hand as my smoking gun?

Will they welcome the tamed spirit that I set free?

Or will they miss the discarded version of me?

But no more of this poison that got you by!

So glance once more my dear and let her die.
