LATE NIGHT EARLY THOUGHTS

Blades blowing in the blizzard of a storm
Still tired I am, from the sleepless night
Catching flies as I yawn
Holding onto my thoughts so tight
One lonely star hovers
In the cobalt of the sky
So many questions I need to know why
Half of the moon has left the other
Fading away behind a cloud
A seagull on a rock, standing so proud
Whistles from the wind so loud
A broken fishing boat on the shore
Ready for driftwood, like many before
Pebbles holding stories of sea shanty songs
Sailors rhymes, who’s words so belong
Shells that were houses to creatures from the sea
Should be left to them, not you and me
Perched on the sandbank
I shiver as I wish to thank
My maker for giving   me another chance
My heart skips a beat
As if seeming to dance
Rhythm is chasing my feet
I’m looking for a soul who I have to meet
This life, my past
I’m not ready to admit defeat
I say nothing good seems to last
But that goes both ways
Nothing bad stays
Life is about change
Nothing should stay the same
It’s like a game
Burns from the flame
Cool waters flow
When we feel lost
Nowhere to go
Listen for directions
Follow your heart
Hold onto affection
Make a new start
Gulls fly by
As if to wave from the sky
Blades of grass blow in the wind
On the mini mountain sound dune
Whistling making a tune
 Looking for words unfeigned
Nature doesn’t lie
Ask the sky
Talk to the trees
Feel the whispers in the breeze
Smell the salt in the sea
This world belongs to you and to me
So, as I sit here surrounded by beauty
I thank our maker for showing me my duty
To our earth
Every day is like a new birth
 Be grateful
For what we have been given
Let’s start living
Life can be beautiful

Hi Fiona,Â
That was beautiful. You are truly a wonderfully talented writer. As Being Me said above, I was going to say you painted a beautiful picture with your words. It felt so calm and serene, and gorgeous in the moment as I was reading it, and the message, and your outlook were beautiful.Â
