LAUREN PRICE

She drove taxis at the weekends to pursue a dream
The rest of the week she went on a fitness regime
To win gold at the Olympics was her goal
Hardly a breeze and certainly not a stroll

Dedicate and commit is what she must do
Struggles would lay ahead is definitely true
Her grandfather died tragically last year
Like a father figure she shed more than a tear

Today her ambition came true which was nice
A gold medal for Welsh boxer Lauren Price
I had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes
As Lauren claimed victory to win the greatest prize
