Poem -

Leave My Pride In The Dust

I hear the sound of laughter
That threatens my here after
My pride would live on the throne
And God Almighty dis-owned

They say I am too good to be true
But in all I haveĀ  been through
What I now count as gain
Are the eternal things that remain

Forth from the bush
From hopes that have been crushed
I marvel at who I am
While sheltered in who I am not

Still pennies too short
And whisperers with report
Dead men tell no tales
Eternity begins where death fails

Left for dead every time
Who he think he is, my crime
However, my smile is renewed
With God's Spirit imbued

Peace instead of praise
No my Lord, I'm not phased!
Do with me as You wish
Then teach me too, how to fish

Leave my pride in the dust
And let the Me, go bust
Then let God have the reigns
For He endured His pains
