Left Unspoken

Left Unspoken

Uh oh, darling, looks like you've lost your wings
Your sins have been pardoned
But it's your fault you made that mistake
I've been hurt but I don't need pity
Life's gonna break you as would New York City

You had a hard knock life
(But so did I)
You struggled to do what's right
(But so did I)
Yeah, you been scorned
(But so have I)
And now you feel so worn
(And so am I)
But one door remains open
So tell me what was left unspoken

Uh oh, darling, you've had a deep dark past
Your friends left you broken
And nightmares got you shakin'
But somehow in them you've been blest
I've been hurt but I don't need pity
Life leaves you hanging in the same old story

You had a hard knock life
(But so did I)
You struggled to do what's right
(But so did I)
Yeah, you been scorned
(But so have I)
And now you feel so worn
(And so am I)
But one door remains open
So tell me what was left unspoken

As I stand at the graveside

overgrown are the weeds
a tomb stone...
