Legacy

Certain words contain a power,

That cannot be explained.

When spoken it demands respect,

A force that can’t be tamed.

Some are born into this world,

To stand out from rest.

They leave their mark behind,

Always remembered as the best.

We watch with baited breath,

Makes me proud to be alive.

The world feels a better place,

Where love could really thrive.

What really sets them apart?

As people they never change.

No matter bout the fame and fortune,

Most will find that strange.

They are the best of you and me,

Remembered till the end of time.

I wish they never had to leave,

Taken early is such a crime.
