Legendary letters

The picture is an oil painting by my wife

Legendary letters

I lay myself down
on barren grounds,
untouched before
my eyes became aware
they were there.

On this solid mass letters form,
out of nowhere,
like lichen on rock, breaking it down
into a substrate.

I open my hands over it
and feel the letters migrate,
grouping into symbols

that heat my hands.
The legendary letters are casting
spells,
mythology to mystic
words
rooted in meaning

beyond
the tangible rock.

Hot breath,
a dragon woke
from the words,

wings beating
to lift me up

to see a new world
grow into being
future

if only
I understand
what gift of life
just came to me.

Thank you for enjoying my mystic brabbke😇. The painting was actually done with oil paint and brushes, over a period if several weeks (oul painting is mostly waiting for the stuff to dry, but yes she can paint. Only she doesn't do much now, vlogging and writing are more engaging for her now)
