The Length of Desire

Unfasten love. Let the vision free. Time has suffocated

Hope. But I dream despite the reality. I fancy

Resilience shall take precedence. Else, I die in degrees,

Wrapped in an iron collar, searching for invisibility.

What am I left with, musing upon a sensation? Indeed,

Naivety has perished, but emotion streams through the

Land of dreams. I’m Israel, filled with faith. I’m Judah,

Longing for kindred souls. Such as life has not

Abandoned me. I’m merely a pulse, trekking through

The forest. I’m merely a vision, living in the future. In

Truth, I’m a prophet confused. Tell me the rainbow has

Not run out of color. Tell me love shall prevail. Else, I

Drift, lost in the horizon, wailing to God. Indeed, I’m a

Shadow, a tender affection, longing for the Promise Land.
