Let the Mountain Sing

What—her soul; her hypnotic soul; and such graceful pain. I
Pause a glimpse—and fall a second. Such mystic madness:
To search a soul; and something wails: an unseen scar; and
Danger lurks—a mile away. I’m so suspicious; for life is
Guile; and guile is life. But what of pain: so sincere—despite
The willows. Pardon my vex; and bend the light; but what
Of grief: a wave to flicker; and what of joy: a stalwart love.
Ever this night; and morning this pain; and what a need: a
Faithful seed. A mystic paused; and diamonds grew; and
Something new—a crackled wall. What the mystery; and
What the hurt?—we venture life; and rain a force: the realm
Of ghosts; and walk a chain: the verse of bars. Never this
Twist; and ever this brick; and deep the breath—a freedom
Kiss; and light—so purple; and favor—so grey.
