Life

Life

The air is warm the sun is bright, how we long for cool dark nights.

We spend our lives in friendships or in love, not knowing who holds us as we lose our sight.

Damp tangled sheets in dimly lit rooms, the smell of stale cigarettes, cheap wine, perfume.

As we grow old somewhat complete, we gather our memories before we sleep.

We listen to old songs on vinyl for days and dream of family we have lost along the way.

As the lights grow dim and answers aren’t clear, we cherish warm air, bright sun and cool nights in our final years.

Good write, I enjoyed the below lines,

We spend our lives in friendships or in love, not knowing who holds us as we lose our sight.

Damp tangled sheets in dimly lit rooms, the smell of stale cigarettes, cheap wine, perfume.

Thanks and congrats
