~ LIFE'S DANCE ~

~ LIFE'S DANCE ~

Awakening, she found she was still dreaming
Still sleeping a lavender-lidded sleep
The delicately constructed purgatory
Between being asleep and just being
Began to make some sense
Then, in a tiny burst of cloud-like upheaval
Her mind shattered the roof of glassy conception
She sat straight up in her bed
She swore in an intimate prayer
That she'd tasted being dead
That she'd been reborn into Life's Dance
A kind of symbiotic ballet of truthful romance
Facing a wall of force fed comprehension
A mini-minuet between elegance and tension
A most dazzling display of light in the darkness
Shining blades of bluntness sizzling into sharpness
Then,
        She swore,
                         Never Again!
Never again would she be taken for granted
Given a gift of dreaming found in sleep supplanted
By the watchful eye in Life's Dance
By the wisdom found in taking a chance
By the restorative nature of morphing scenes
Or the genius of Life's Dance
She'd gathered in her dreams....

Hey T.... I love the theme and picture you chose for this poem.  I can feel myself in this as I read....wanting to understand that in between state of sleep and being awake with the feelings and conceptions that dreams leave...that filter their ideas into life....Life's dance is a ballet of delicate balance of taking chances in life from what we learn in our dreams to trying to implement them our lives to make sense.  Life is a gift, if we just understand how to unwrap it and appreciate what it can offer us.  I saw so much hope and inspiration from this.  Thanks for sharing your talents, T.  You really make me ponder.

Yeah, you're right C!!......the ballet.... or that balance..... that we hope to find and implement from that gray area between dreaming and the waking state into our lives...... is something VERY special and VERY personal for each of us......IU think God afforded us each that personal little playground that we might learn to appreciate the curtain that exists in all aspects of life.... that KNOWING that there is something so much bigger, wiser, and incomprehensible than ourselves that we ALL have it as a daily reminder of just how special each and every one of us truly is!!......Thanx for being your charming and insightful self sweetheart!!...... lots of plumplicious kisses!!...... smiles......T xo  : )

Hey Tony,
Wonderful writing, my friend. Like wandering through a dream.
Beautifully composed. I really enjoyed that.

I think the delayed rhyme schemes and content
alone makes this an instant classic.
