Life's Lesson

I don’t know what to do

What to think

How to feel.

I’m lost amidst my thoughts, my fate,

And my dreams.

What should I do with my life?

Live to work? Work to live?

Another thought I give

To this never ending confused contemplation.

What do I do with this piece of paper?

Hard-earned yet insignificant

Collect my number and join the race, you say

To spend my time earning money for a rainy day.

It’ll get me eventually, if not today.

Choose wisely now

Don’t make a mistake

There’s no time for that

You’ll be left in its wake.

Keep up!

No rest for the wicked –

You’re burning sunlight.

No time nor tolerance for the human side.

Well, I won’t make that sacrifice – I refuse!

Health, home and happiness is what I choose.
