Light and Dark

Mother sun long ago lived

her children very quite opposite
 

Luminous, the bright

and Luscious darkness

they played as normal children do

frolicking and dancing up on a hill

one day mother sun said

it has come my children

and Luscious immediately understood

his sister and he forever changed

and going away for good
 

Luminous my child you are the light

Luscious my son you are the dark

between you both

hold your fare

without either an unknowing lair

the key to wisdom all-knowing bare

you must never fight

and keep the balance

with every might
 

for if you don't

my children see

will destroy us all

and even me

eons past with balance

with sister and brother

until twisted darkness seeked here

the brilliance of light gone

Luminous the sister cast away

and Luscious a wicked one
 

the power over thrown

the crown now bore

the darkness crest

to which had both before

mother sun who warned

do not fight my children

for this the end soon now come

when you fight, forgive

you need eachother more than i

and when that end come

you will see

i forewarned that end

cant ever be
 

mother sun long since been gone

left the children to their game

the game too serious bore

for now the world stuck

in sibling war

long since light has shown

Luminous lost and over thrown

My brother why are you mad

I will always be here

my light gives hope without fear

so why now do you keep me from there

my dear sister, say he

I nay forgot about you

always there, lighting the way

never letting me have my fun

jealousy my brother

does not suit

I am not the evil one

nay sister evil not I

I keep the darkness

you keep the light

as the rules mother gave

I wont idle by as you invade

my fun I shall have

on the people down below
 

my dear brother

as am the light I say this

there will always be hope
 

I care not of hope

no more from the light

bring the darkness bring midnight

you will soon see

I don't care about truth or honesty

nay another of the same

no more light

I bring my brilliance of dark
 

my sweet brother I know

nay this selfish you

forget you do, I am the light

I cannot be forgot

I will linger no matter what

dear sister I love you true

but I still don't believe

I cannot get rid of you

I shall have this world

in complete darkness as my will

finally I am here

I bid you farewell dear sister

for here you stay until I am done

I will be complete

once you are gone

forget not my brother

I cannot be gone

I am forever light

even the smallest dim

is still the biggest bright

you will soon see my brother

you will never get rid of me
 

Luscious spread across the room

up the walls and everywhere

and as his darkness grew

a child from below cried out

and Luscious never saw fear
 

a child of only four

stood at the door

a small fluffy bear in her arms

and Luscious stood close and watched

she stared back in wonder

tears streamed rosy cheeks

and Darkness stopped engulfing this place

Luscious looked close and saw

the tears of the child's face

wonder now filled in the darkness
 

he never saw a child so in fear

he was stuck and did not know

what to do

there you go Luscious

a voice said

as the child lit a candle in her hand
 

I said I would be back

dear brother and here I am

Your turn darkness is done
you had your fun here and now
For I said I'd be back in a while
A frown came from Luscious
As Luminous lit the sky

Weary light left
But always
around
Until it's lit
Ill always be back around

Darkness cried

as Luminous appeared again in the sky
My turn, has come say she
You took over all of my fun said he
Light replied
Your fun isn't done
Patience my brother

again I'll soon be gone

for now your turn is done
Not for good or forever
Just for now you will return later

Why then you show up now
I was not finished my fun

Luminous shared the room
As Luscious stepped aside
Be it candle or bulb
Always a place for light to hide
and even more for Luscious

Luminous came
Shining through and piercing the sky
as Luscious fell away

Light said I am only around
Darkness my brother she said
To keep those afraid, still in bed
To help make them feel safe
Darkness she said
You are sometimes a scary one
With out my help no one will come to play

Darkness thought a second
And just one more
So light he said
I'd like never more
I've heard the stories told
At bedside light
Just before you let me play

I want to know he said
Of the moon
and why he's here

Darkness, brother she said
I wish you all but my light
How can I make you happy

Leave this place and let
me have it all
Filling each room and crevice
From floor to ceiling and walls too

Let me have complete dark
Let me take over and give night

Darkness
my friend she said
I'm sorry I cannot
help with your request
For light is everywhere it's in our hearts

Darkness frowned he
didn't like that
How can you keep me from my path
I was meant to make this last

Light just smiled knowing her brother's sadness
I will always be here
for you when been
I hold you dearest of all
My truest friend
You seem to not understand
I need you too
For light cannot show
Unless you the darkness grows

Luscious smiled again and grew
To the darkest of the closet
And deeper still
Under the bed and all around
Winking at light for he knew

She would always be around

Once more darkness fade

and light took over the hearts of people

though she knew dark would come

again and again everyday

and be the two never did they end.
