A Light Still Burns

A Light Still Burns

Night falls inside my soul emotions escape the confines of courage

Weakness delivers the alert and the feeding begins

Devoured by the sorrow starving for nourishment

The gnashing teeth of pain rip in to my heart riddling it with open wounds

The gashes bleed what little hope that courses thru me

My spirit looks down upon me now and sees the anguish in my eyes

I stare back seeing deep into myself and realize off in the distance a light still burns
