Lighter

Flickā¦. Flickā¦.Ā
There goes that lighter, always trying to light but the chaos blows it out before the sparks catch.Ā
It triedĀ for so long I think it ran out of fuel. No more fuel, no sparks, no light.Ā
Flick⦠Flick⦠Flickā¦Ā
Itās been so long, and no sparks, why does it keep trying? Why wonāt it give up?Ā
The lighter hasnāt worked in months, why wonāt it stop trying?Ā
Flick⦠Flick⦠Flickā¦.. fliā¦Ā
And the incessant sound continues like a drip from the drain. Itās boring watching a lighter with no passion try to ignite.Ā Iāve been listening for months and nothing happens.Ā
Flick⦠Flickā¦Ā Flick..
I looked up and met your eyes.
and sparks flew...
Chocolate brown that holds a warm gaze. For the first time in months, I see the flame but not from my lighter, from yours.Ā
You put your lighter to mine and lit it, like the flame of my soul. It had gone cold.Ā
You lit a flame of passion for me with your soft lips and whiskey eyes.Ā
No more flicks, instead breathes the music of passion; of fire.Ā

Had to point out this line. Love this line. Welcome to Cosmo x
Thank you so much!!
This is gorgeous, I loved how you used the lighter as an analogy. A wonderful piece about how someone can make you feel alive and light that spark which felt dead inside. Brilliant āØš
