Poem -

"Like you don't need me" By Ben Goode 2016 (c)

Forever lost, and perhaps extinct there can never be redemption. To wish and to dream are just as colorful as rainbows.Ā
But transparent, and there is no pot of gold, nor any true promises. Love is true wealth, but is not monetary.Ā
Though you placed no value on my heart. It wasn't worth anything to you anything. I had surrendered it long ago, and you let it fall. And walked over the pieces. I could never find them all again.Ā
And now it sits just as broken as all your promises.Ā
To see another day? Perhaps it may feel more intact in the darkness. For it does not have a light within anymore.Ā
But perhaps it doesn't need it, like you don't need me.
