Like a big Baboon
After Christmas day I feel like a big baboon, with rolls of fat around my midrift and a face like a full moon..standing sideways by a full length mirror I view my reflection, but the image looking back at me is twice my size on closer inspection..
But shoving colossals of calories in that cavity amidst my face is nobodyâs fault but my own and an absolute disgrace.. âWalking for Englandâ is looming very near but quite frankly I havenât got the energy that I had before I fear.. well thatâs because Iâve gained weight, I used to feel so fit..trouble is I am older now and getting on abit
So my plan is to do a little stroll, maybe just four miles every day, any exercise will be beneficial, rollon the Spring I say.. coz I donât fancy walking out in this dark, dank, dreariness, getting wet and muddy isnât a very nice experience.. itâs a few months until the winter will be over but I long for my hilly rambles, treading on the clover
All of this festive food in my fridge isnât doing me any favours with tasty temptations and delicious, yummy flavours, Iâm going to give it away to my offspring and not keep it for myself, they can help themselves to whatevers left on the shelf.. apart from the lettuce, tomatoes and perhaps leave me the ham..I could start eating salads tho who am I trying to kid ?..damn !!

I like how you set the tone for the poem early on.Â
The last line:Â
I could start eating salads tho who am I trying to kid ?..damn !!
I think the last part could be omitted, or not.Â
The word or part of the word though (tho) I would use the full word instead of the shortened version. Just one idea.Â
Good work.Â
Aww thanks luv so
much lol haha just how I feelin right now pml xx
Jillianna,Â
You're loopy...and I like it!Â
I like baboons, and monkeys, so thank you for being one(kidding). You're not fat! And just a short 4 miles, huh??!! Jeez, I walk to the fridge, and I need a defibrillator! Kidding, I actually walk 3000 miles a day...like Forrest Gump.Â
Anyway, I really enjoyed that, you just write whatever pops into your mind, and I like that. Yesterday, I wrote one of those wacky things I write sometimes, but didn't post it because I didn't think it was that funny. Used to be I'd just post anything, and didn't care, but I balked. I must be getting sane in my old age(I'm a hundred and forty seven years old). Ugh...and ugh.Â
Anyway, I forgot where I was going with all of this, but it certainly wasn't on a short, 4 mile walk! Over.Â
Matthew.Â
Teehee I do just write what the hell pops into my nogginâ u spot on Matthew haha itâs just my life & verse :) Thanks for all your briiliant supportive fun my great friend ?â¤ď¸?
You're so welcome, Jilliana. Keep on writing all your wacky, and beautiful, and smart poetry, it's fantastic. And thank you for enjoying my craziness, it's few and far between the people who like my loopiness(you and Cheerie, and Marionette, maybe), but the best people.Â
I used to write whatever popped into my noggin, until I took off my hat one day, and everything started seeping out of the giant hole I didn't realize I had in my head(from that last haircut by my barber, Tu Manny Scissors). Now I just write about yaks.Â
Anyway, where is Marionette? You and I and Cheerie, Gregor, etc. are supposed to do the Mimery Contest, but she has disappeared into the night. Have you seen her around Cosmo?Â
Thanks,Â
M.Â
Ay she was on tuther day but not today I like u lots u mentioned us all & Tony too all brill & Katinas canny xxx
Oh...when is Tuther Day? Is that a British holiday? LOL.Â
Thanks, I like you, too, you're fum. That Katrina does seem very nice to you, I'm glad. She doesn't respond to my comments, but I think that's because I'm just wearing a loin cloth(I thought today was Loin Cloth Wednesday at work, and it turns out it's Woolly Mammoth Monday, so I look fummy), but anyway, yes we are all brill, aren't we?...with the possible exception of me, but that's another story.Â
Have a festive Tuther Day!Â
Matthew.Â
Errr tuther day was maybes 2 nights ago so coulda been xmas eve lol my memories bamboozeld haha ay Katina gives me abit honest negativity but well makes me try harder pml xxx
Did you have a good Tuther Day?Â
We celebrated it by sprinkling monkey juice on some azaleas, and the reading the quatrains of Gomer Pyle to one another, it was amazing...in a boring, monotonous type of way. I love Tuther Day! Maybe you could write a poem stating what Tuther Day means to you, and what you did for it. What do you think? Thanks!Â
M.Â
Haha donât tempt me lol xxx
DO IT!! DO IT!! (no peer pressure). DO IT!!! LOL.Â
Did you get a visit from Saint Mulvers on Tuther Day? I love how he comes through the bathroom pipes(as to not run into Santa in the chimney), to deliver his gifts of yak fur, and pollywogs. It's really quite inflammatory.Â
LOL.Â
Do the Tuther Day poem!! Please!Â
M.Â
Haha What u like Matthew xx well im gettin daughters again so maybes later on teehee xxx
Excellent!Â
I'll be looking for it!Â
I remember my first Tuther Day, as a young lad of 72, my Aunt Phlapus dressed up as Mulvers, and got stuck in the toilet, and had to eat the pollywogs to survive. It was splendid...in a morbid, disturbing way. Then we ate garlic encrusted warlocks and painted ourselves orange, it was magical.Â
Thanks for bringing back the great mammories!Â
Matthew.Â
Tuther & another done ?
