Little Bright Lights

carrying them everyday, mind so new, world so big. thoughts too vast for this place precious soul, one day old. perfection, pristine...pity. The rough unyielding walls of our everything locks away your little bright lights, no way to expose in full, glimmers, though tiny, creep under doors, but no room for complete exposure. Doused by moist fingers, unconsciously her mind's tide grows shallower. Like scraping the icing off a tall colorful cake, only the pretty things are put into use. What's left is the duller layers, so full and rich but unwanted in this society. She can see her tiny lights but they're far away, too far to reach, and she would put all else into a blur. Will they talk? Snapping jaws of her so called friends, They mimic the ways of our so called foes. The grains are small, how is going against them so very, very hard? Innocence gone, she is drowned by wave upon wave of toxic thoughts; thrust upon her by... Who not by?
