A Little Hiccup

A Little Hiccup

You know we're both quite stubborn
and we both need the last word.
The things we fight over
later seem absurd.

We both nag at each other
but we do it for the best.
Can we overcome?
That's the real test.

You procrastinate.
I'm easily frustrated.
Some things that you do
leave me completely jaded.

I should watch my mouth.
The things I say can hurt.
I'm sorry for having no filter
and being excessively curt.

In the end, we both love each other
despite our frustrating flaws.
So let's call it even
instead of drawing straws,

In the end we both know what happens.
We kiss and we make up.
We know it doesn't matter.
It's just a little hiccup.
