Little Lucinda ?

“Mammy can I help you with your chores?” as little Lucinda empties all her  drawers.. Petticoats, socks and pants are in a pile, as Mammy stops and gives a beaming smile..but your bedroom drawers were tidy already, as Lucinda cuddles in her tatty teddy..

I’ll tell you what you can do for me as Mammy sits her darling daughter upon her knee..”I will put your clothes neatly away as you sit beside me with your doll house and play..One day you will be a Mother just like me cleaning your house and making the tea.. but just now you are only small, so I don’t want you to worry at all..Mammy stands up and sits her little one on the bed as Lucinda shakes her puzzled head.. “But Mammy two pair of hands are much better than one, so if we work together we will get the jobs done”...
