The Little Piano Long Gone

The Little Piano Long Gone

Looking at the ivory gives a chill,

touching the key is like ice

pushing it down, creaking softly

a sound of delight fills the room

before the note stops it turns into a song

what a joyous tune fills the lonely room

If only the song would stay for all ears

but people grow old and the little piano

is long gone but in the lonely walls

Still lies the memory of a song from

 the little piano long gone

Valerie Beasley...

Grace!  Beautiful write!  I, too, think that the echo of the piano and the songs sung are hidden in the cracks of the walls…which answer the beams…just the softest of vibrations are there and the little piano long gone from sight still fills the room on twilight nights!
