Poem -

Living dead

She stands before me
Hands to the sky
A sweet smile on her face
Like she's never told a lie
She looks as me
Her smile turns to a frown
She shakes her head
And twirls her gown
My legs turn to led
And I'm afraid
I'm going down
Going out of town
"Please" I beg
"One more chance"
But she nodds again
And begins to danceĀ
"I'll do it, right this time!" I cry
Clutching my hair
The fabricĀ
Beginning to tare
"No" she utters a single word
And slowly withdraws a flaming sword
"I'll do it, I promise," I say as I kneel
"Please, please, just make it a deal"
"You've had your chance. Now it's gone. Ā "
She answered back, singing a song
I meekly nodded, because I let her down
I broke the promise that I sealed
Know I was reaping it
Where I kneeledĀ
She smiled, "now you understand," she said
No coming back from it this timeĀ
This is what I do
To the living deadĀ
