LIVING OUR TRUTH
  
We are hurt when others first meet us
We laugh and smile, never showing our scars
We've come to believe in our mind; we don't deserve it
Thinking not of our strengths, but our lifetime of flaws
 
My friend, what baggage do you carry forward
Whatever you bring is just more added weight
When two souls get to know one another
They do not show all the problems that are on their plate
 
When you unpack your baggage, you start bleeding
Your heart is locked up in your lonely past
You were a fake smile when your loved one approaches
And they can't see the shadow your real baggage casts
 
Broken people try to fix broken people
We fight to stay present in our truth
Then the past creeps in; we can't leave it alone
Our hearts won't open, we can’t find our lost youth
 
You'll find the truth will correct the errors you have in your mind
And when two hearts blend as one they will transform
It's not the battles we lost or the stories we remember
It’s sharing each precious moment; that is when you both are reborn
 
 
 
Your willingness to look at your darkness is what empowers you to change
Love will find a way to break through any barriers....walk with faith
