London Calling

London Calling

We caught the 38 from Victoria
to Oxford St..
Taking in Park Lane,
walking through China town, stopped for a cappachino  off Leicester Square,
in the shade of Nelson,
Tourists everywhere..
I don't regard myself,
as a tourist .
These streets have wandered in
my mind, for all time,
it belongs to me.
Sat outside the station a family
from Florida let us know
why they were here .
All golden and fresh as sweet
Oranges.
They'd come to visit Windsor...
I learned something..
She said it rains in Florida every day..
and being British..
That cheered me greatly .
You'll be used to it here..
I said.
A slice of USA with my cappachino..
was the order of the day..
God Bless You
