Lone Wane

Lone Wane

Contemplate my death if you please

my limbs will shrivel up

i’ll lose my appetite

find it impossible

to sip from a cup

sit up all night

watching my reflection in

the hazy window-pane as

my prettiest features

turn jaundice but

can’t reach for make-up

my spine arching

nails browning

and flaking off

as my stature shrinks

and

it all falls out

from my head

desiccated petals everywhere!
