Poem -

lonely shadow

She   has a friend that is with her all the time no matter where and when    seems that she unaware of its presence.  It is there in the light or dark and can be seen in the neon light of a bar or store.   It goes where she goes up and down the stairs and back forth across the floor.  She is casting a lonely shadow since her baby went away.

Her baby’s love was only an hour and bottle of wine long.  She now she walks around casting a lonely shadow since her baby went away. If only   she had known that she was another notch on her baby’s belt and was never true.  She gave up   the only one she would ever love to be with the one that only loved her for an hour and bottle of wine long.

Sitting at a table in a bar, there the shadow sits beside her and never drinks a drop   just adding to her loneliness   but seem to understand the pain she feels since her baby went away.  The only thing in her life that is stable is her lonely shadow, since her baby went away.

Hi Wendy ~ so sad.........this write makes you wonder about Love and it's ability to change so quickly........like ~ in an hour and over a bottle of wine...........I don't know if the title or the write itself ~ came first............but it is stunning imagery created in the minds eye of your reader...........the shadow sitting next to her ~ and the loneliness lingering..........VERY creative my friend.............beautifully delivered.........almost hurts to read a write like this..............and I pray that this was fictional............and that you are not in pain sweet poetess..............thanx for sharing this piece...............well done...........Love and Rockets!!.........T xo
