Long Time, No Rate!

In breathless suspense
You look to your stats
For any improvements
But all your hope falls flat

You’re in comment denial
Not one single rate
Appears on your profile
And voteless you wait

Chafing your hands
And heaving a sigh
All your hope lands
And there does it die

But this time is different
You assure yourself boldly
They won’t be indifferent
And regard it so coldly

The work of your fingers
And laboring mind
Weighed by strangers
And deemed unrefined

Don’t give up yet
A yellow ribbon appears
You will never forget
It was worth the tears

Those stars gleaming bright
Goad you on to try more
And the cycle invite
To be worse than before
