Longing For The Return

The slow turn of a knife
twisted into the side of the soul
rips through more than flesh and chisels the bone.
A skewered soul bleeds in solitary.
No tears relieve the perpetual agony of the beloved who are lost.
Suffocating in deep and endless grief as crimson follows it
diminishes hope and dreams
spilling forth an illusion that all is in vain.
Carnage of loved ones penetrates the inner eyes of the heart
and light disappears where sorrow begins.
No reconciliation with the violence that has passed through
the generations.
Left to mourn alone life is crippled with wailing of
unspeakable regret.
Such tragedy holds the dagger that severes by the forces of evil.
What was joyful has been tainted by immense despair
and longing for the return of yesteryear
Sudden and abrupt goodbyes rip away any and all resolve
as one lingers in a dimension of unthinkable pain.

I highlighted a few of my favorite lines in this emotive, despondent piece,
Cactus Woman.
You do dark poetry proud.
Have a wonderful weekend.

What an extraordinarily powerful poem, brings our darkest intuition of where our society has gone - with compassion for the soul's quiet suffering - into the intense light of your searing words, and thus somehow transforming it all - if not fixing things, restoring our power to define and overcome.
Wow daddy!

Your words mean a great deal to me and your incredible loving support.
Love you always <3 Ukcela Win Yan <3
P.S. I revised the poem some.
Hope it brings fourth greater understanding of the great pain I saw my mother go through after the deaths that accrued during her life and also mine.
I know many have suffered great loss.
I hope those of us who have endured great tragedy do not feel alone.
