Looking Backward

Looking Backward

I now find myself “Looking Backward”, for happiness and ecstasy;
When the World we knew was normal, a bright future did we see!
But those yesterdays are gone now, replaced with tomorrows darkest hours;
Our masses sadly falling, as death upon us showers!
.
What do we have to look forward to, each day the toll augments;
The virus is unstoppable, it offers no recompense!
Our Doctors try to fight it, but each hour it claims more ground;
No rock cast from a slingshot, can take the giant down!
.
They promise us with “keeping distance”, from our fellow human beings;
That eventually, they’ll control it, a panacea will be seen!
But no one knows for sure now, if and when that will take place;
So till then, I’ll be looking backward, it’s my only saving grace!
.
.
I now look backward
To the days of joy and bliss
Hoping for replays

Well written Larry Ran..
the uncertainty, the darkness of it all is captured in the piece..
But as much as yesterday brings us some kind of comfort..
Tomorrow will be a more glorious day for us all.
Thanks for the opportunity to read and comment.

Dear Wilford,

I will try grab on to a piece of debris from our shipwrecked World, and not drown in my sea of sorrow.  May those "glorious days of tomorrow", rescue us all soon.

Peace and Love,

Being Me

I feel what you are saying, Larry.  The rising death toll is just terrifying. It scares me every day. I am now too scared to check the numbers. What is also terrifying is the amount of doctors and nurses succumbing to it. Over here a lot of them do not even have the correct protective equipment...it is something our government needs to pull there finger out on...that and more testing! It is a night mare and I am not certain that it will ever go away completely. I hope to god they find a cure and or vaccination...but a coronovirus is a type of common cold and they've never been able to cure that.  Dark times indeed. But positive thoughts my friend...positive thoughts x

My Dear Being Me,

As I just wrote Cherie, we watch National News every night at 6 p.m. with Lester Holt, and every day, the news gets worse.  Over a thousand people a day are dying from COVID 19 in the United States.  I heard one nurse yesterday on the news quoted as saying, "Working in the hospitals is a suicide mission".  Like you say, many caregivers have succumbed to it, for they do not have access to the proper protection.  The Dark Ages are upon us again, so difficult for positive thoughts.

All my love,
Larry xxx

Hello Brother,
If looking "Looking Backward" works...then by all means, make it so.....These words you've written here are extremely well manicured......they are near Anthem-Like in their voicing!!…...It is truly a magical declaration you've poetically delivered and made quite clear to those who read it.....Whatever works Larry!!  Whatever works!!…….thinking of you and Linda.....and praying for your safe glide!!……..PINNED!!……..LOVE & ROCKETS!!…...T xo  : )

My Dear Brother Tony,

"Looking Backward" is all that works for me, because, when I " play it forward", I see nothing but a World in total chaos, losing a battle to this never-before seen monster.  Instead of "Anthem-Like", I intended it to be "Anathema-Like".  As usual, your sagacious words are a pure pleasure to ingest.
Stay healthy and stay safe.

All my love,
Larry xxx

The Humanities matter. Well, I think so, because I care to study them. Within, the " framework " of our existence, lies our endeavour. And, our adventure. " To, boldly go, where others have not gone before. " The pioneering spirit is always there. To, forge practical measures from experiences, etched in the " fabric of time " like caveman drawings, on the rock-face. The timelines of the personalities, of history, give to us the " bed-rock " of our infrastructure. And, our processes to survive, our era, and place in the " grand scheme of things. "
Within, life you look to precedents and examples, as well as samples, to teach you in a location, away from what you can learn by activity, there. Here, you rely on the " work " of others, to give you reasoning and understanding, beyond what is available where you find you are. Their way of dealing with your situation, or providing of a spark to ignite fresh thoughts, delivers to you what you need. To, be more. The generational divide is crossed by one handing legacy to another, to push our species ever onwards ! And, upwards. HISTORY, AND THE GEOGRAPHY, OF OUR TIME, IS PARAMOUNT TO PROGRESSION.

Dear Richard,

I must apologize for being so late in responding to your brilliant comment, but somehow, we missed it.  Such an in depth perspective you have presented here.  I can't thank you enough, for taking the time to honor me with such passion.  I am looking "forward" to reading your words several more times, to thoroughly ingest them.  This pandemic has greatly affected my mindset, for I can't help feeling that life as we knew it, is gone forever.  I cannot see a full recovery in the future.  Part of me feels like this is the beginning of the end.  When I look to the days ahead, where I used to see sunshine, now I see pandemonium and darkness.

May my fears all be for naught, and normalcy return soon.

Stay healthy and safe.

Peace and love,
Larry xxx
