Looking Past The Past
When she looks back at the way things used to be,
I guess its up to her what she wants to see.
A little girl riding her first bike,
Or a young woman bucking up to a man to fight.
Memories flash by like a raging waterfall,
A little girls laugh ; a wounded girl call.
A mother and daughter leaving her arms scarred,
Never thought she'd let her addiction go this far.
A sister and an auntie, the little girl on that bike,
Just throwing away her beautiful life.
Taking the wrong path knowingly,
Wondering when she will ever be free.
Thinking maybe if she looks back or turns around,
She could have passed up where the freedom is found.
Its when she look ahead instead of looking back,
Living the life she wants could be a possible fact.
When she looks ahead the future is bright,
Out of the darkness and into the light.
And if she can fight with all of her might,
She just knows everything would turn out right.
A wonderful life of hope, love and happiness.
Gluing back the pieces of her beautiful mess.
Relizing shes worth more than she thought,
To think she was willing to let her soul rot.
Now she looks forward and walks with faith,
Making her days good, before its too late.
....She will never be the laughing little girl again, but she will be a Mother, Daughter,Sister, and auntie delivered from sin. AMEN.

This was amazing. You touched my heart with this. I love the way you write. It's amazing. Â Addiction is hard to recover. As i have also stuggled with addiction in the past. Good luck to you. I can't wait to read more.Â
