Lost

Lost

We are born lost
in hunger and in cry,
among the sounds,
textures, and overwhelming lights
Lost in a world so new!

Comes the first steps
and we get lost in curiosity,
in the garden, and behind the doors
Lost in mischief, lost in awe!

Sweet teen years
and lost in the maze of confusion,
in frustration, wandering adrift
Lost identity, lost in the streets!

As years pass, we lose the way
where to go, which path to take,
lost in the counting of mistakes
Lost in love, lost in the world!

Growing old and still lost
loss of youth, loss of energy,
lost keys to forgotten doors
anything else here I missed?
Loss of words!

How do we feed our dreams before we go?
Lost in direction, lost in nostalgia, lost evermore
Lost in reflections, lost in thoughts!
Lost, so we can find ourselves. Again.

Right, Marion. I was talking to some young ones and they
told me how lost they feel. I think this's an ongoing feeling,
specially these days with all the uncertainties. I just told them that
they'll find themselves again.  B

Hello B...

I never understood why people when they get old...

They have one foot real close to the Grave...

Then they decide it's time to mess up real bad...

That never has made any sense to me...

You're going to try to do it right when you're young?

Last Option I can think of...

Not try to do good at all?

Please explain if you understand it...

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...

I think if you mess up when you're young you still have time to
fix things up and learn from the mistakes, but messing up
after you get old doesn't give much time, does't it?
And that's a sad thing.
I don't have the answers, just too many questions.
Keep well lovely bird.  B

Way to go! To become unlost is a lifelong struggle - I hope I will not dissppear into the night like my mum in Alzheimer

Thank you John, for reading my
work and sharing what you think.
No, you are not going to disappear into the night.
You’re writing, walking & looking after yourself. Look after your brain, you’ll be just fine, John.

Excellent. I will say though, something in me is rather more discovered than lost among the lost, seems to me quite weird. I've tried to be lost but can't seem to be

No Rory, it’s not weird, I think it’s wonderful that you feel “unlost” and discovered.
You even try to be lost? So you’ll find yourself again. That’s great! You’re brave.
