Love

The fear sets in,

As I look into his eyes I know it was time to say goodbye.

 All I wanted was to hold him tight.

Yet all I could do was cry,

"I love you" was all I could manage to say.

My voice was soft and filled with ache,

As I waited for him to speak, I heard his heart begin to slowly beat.

He closed his eyes and drew in one last breath,

I didn't want to let go but I knew he was gone,

As I watched his ivory skin begin to turn shades of blue and his chest no longer move.

My love for him was as bright as a summers day.

Yet in a blink of an eye,

Everything has now turned sad and grey.

Our love was forbidden by those who raised their heads.

For because of our love,

Jack is now dead.

But his love is not lost, his voice is still heard.

For the boy I once new,

Will always have my heart.

For he was the one who made my wish come true.

He brought me to life only to leave my side.

But I know our love could never be forgotten, or forbidden.

Just merely a song in the wind,

To always remind me never to cry.

For our last moment was not goodbye.
